Leading Industry Analyst Firm Positions Netrics

Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

PRINCETON, NJ, June 6, 2008 – Netrics, a technology innovator that makes imperfect data perfectly usable, today announced that it has been positioned in Gartner, Inc.’s June 2008 “Data Quality Tools Magic Quadrant,” report, authored by Ted Friedman and Andreas Bitterer. Gartner predicts that the data quality tools market will grow at a compound annual rate of 17 percent or more between 2006 and 2011.

The quality of corporate data is a recurring issue, with inaccuracies, variations and inconsistencies that create big problems for organizations in multiple industries. As a simple example, consider the problems that will arise if a patient’s data appears more than once in a hospital’s database, leaving those responsible for the patient’s care unsure whether they are administering the correct treatment to the correct person.

“Organizations of all sizes and in all industries are recognizing the importance of high-quality data and the critical role of data quality in information governance and stewardship driven by broader enterprise information management initiatives,” according to the report. “Data quality functionality is also being recognized as a fundamental component of offerings in many related software markets, such as data integration tools, master data management (MDM) solutions and business intelligence (BI) platforms.”

The Netrics Matching Platform™ approaches data quality from a unique perspective, using revolutionary mathematical modeling to automate the matching and linking of data despite its imperfections, giving organizations the ability to make critical decisions based on data even that is inherently imperfect. This is a departure from typical data quality solutions, which require heavy lifting and significant resources to fix and manage the data.

As an embeddable, real-time solution, the Netrics Matching Platform can be deployed on virtually every platform, operating system and database. This provides businesses with the flexibility and scalability to leverage best-of-breed matching technologies immediately and with a high degree of accuracy.

“Based on Gartner’s evaluation, we believe it is obvious that data quality is top of mind for many organizations as they seek to utilize critical data as a strategic business driver instead of just a database,” said Stefanos Damianakis, president and CEO, Netrics. “The beauty of Netrics is that we make corporate data more usable despite inconsistencies, avoiding the limitations of conventional data quality techniques. Using Netrics, companies can optimize existing technology, application and database investments quickly, easily and cost effectively.”
